Welcome to Radiodays Europe 2014 in Dublin

Over the next two days Radiodays Europe will welcome record numbers of delegates from 60 countries to the Emerald Isle for the 5th annual radio conference.

Yesterday was a busy day, with a series of radio-related workshops kicking off the conference. The workshops included: Story telling on radio, developing your on air talent and how to be a successful editorial leader.

In the afternoon Google hosted a lunch at their headquarters, providing their views on how to build a strong online radio station.

Throughout the day delegates had the opportunity to explore Dublin on one of four city tours. The tours were at the invite of Radiodays’ Irish partners RTE’ and IBI to get a flavour of Dublin’s culture, nature and literature.

Anders and Rolf (Radiodays Project Managers) met the Lord Mayor of Dublin yesterday evening. The Mayor expressed his hope that the delegates of Radiodays Europe enjoyed the event, but also suggested that they give themselves the chance to visit Dublin and enjoy all that Ireland has to offer. Joining Anders and Rolf were the local partners RTE’, the Irish public broadcaster, and the IBI, the Irish association for commercial broadcasters.

Celebrations went on into the evening with delegates and speakers enjoying the atmosphere at the Café en Seine in the city centre. It was the perfect opportunity for delegates to meet radio professionals from all over the world, and the perfect start to Radiodays Europe 2014.
