First Programme released for Dublin 2014

Today the first 24 of the total 50 sessions at Radiodays Europe in Dublin 2014 are announced.

Among the new confirmed speakers are the UK radio legend Tony Blackburn, the CEO of the 538 Group in the Netherlands Jacqueline Smit and Chris Bannon from New York public radio, WNYC.


In 2014 Tony Blackburn celebrates his 50th anniversary of being on the radio. He started his career on the pirate ships Radio Caroline in the 1960s, and was the DJ chosen to launch BBC Radio 1 in 1967. Tony was a host of Top of the Pops on British TV in the 70s and 80s. He went on to work at all the major UK radio networks and is still on the airwaves as a host on the UK biggest radio station, BBC Radio 2.

Connecting Radio

This year's Radiodays Europe is all about “Connecting Radio”: from connecting with radio colleagues from Europe and the World, to greater opportunities to connect with new ideas and the look of the future.

“Connecting Radio” is also about what radio does best, how to engage and stay connected with the listeners in new ways. And, of course, radio´s connected digital future.

100 speakers 50 sessions

Europe´s largest radio conference Radiodays Europe is about sharing experiences, ideas, innovation and inspiration. And the programme reflects that with a wide range of topics and almost 100 speakers in 50 sessions in Dublin 23-25 March 2014. Last year Radiodays Europe had 1200 delegates from 50 countries.

  • Kim McNally, Research Manager, BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, UK.
  • Fred Jacobs, President, Jacobs Media, USA.
  • Lyn Long, Radio Consultant (previously on Capital Radio), UK.
