Radioday for Asia in Kuala Lumpur

On 25 May Radiodays Europe organized a Radioday Workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in conjunction with the annual Asia Media Summit. More than 60 participants from 25 countries in Asia, Africa and Australia took part in the Radio Day.

The theme for the day was “Radio and Social Media”.  Among the speakers were Laura-May Coope (Social Life, UK), Steve Ahern (AsiaRadioToday), Laxman Datt Pant (Researcher, Nepal), Chris McWilliams (TripleM, Australia),  James Cridland (MediaUK) and Chang Jin (Director of AIBD). RCS supported the event and showed their services on site.

In the following Asia Media Summit plenary attended by more than 400 media representatives, Anders Held (Co-founder and Manager of Radiodays Europe) gave a keynote about radio and social media.

We had very positive feedback from participants this year. It is very interesting to hear participants from across Asia tell their stories about the importance of radio and how they use social media, for example the role of community radio and social media after the Nepal earthquake, said Anders Held, Radiodays Europe.

This was the third year that Radiodays Europe worked with its partner Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) helping to bring top of the line international speakers to the Asia Media Summit. Next year AMS will be held in Seoul, Korea.
