About Radiodays Europe

The world´s greatest international radio conference

Radiodays Europe is an annual conference for radio professionals with 1300 participants from 60 countries. It is the meeting point for the European radio industry, both private and public, and a destination for radio people from around the world.

It will next year take place in Paris, France, 13 - 15 March 2016 at Le Palais des Congrès de Paris.

Radiodays Europe is the place where radio leaders and producers across Europe can meet and share the best radio of today and discuss the future of radio. The mission is to spread good ideas and to make better radio for our listeners.

Topics range from the future of radio in cars, the best radio-apps, the challenges of new music services, new radio formats, new research and new revenues, as well as journalism and innovations in radio.

Radiodays Europe has become not only the largest and most important international radio conference in the world, it is also considered to be the best with high quality content, great speakers and a huge programme with over 100 speakers in 55 sessions over 2,5 days. In a survey, the participants gave thumbs up and rated the Dublin conference 4,1 on a 1-5 scale.

Started in 2010

Radiodays Europe has grown since the start 2010 in Copenhagen. More sessions, more content and more attendees. In 2012 Radiodays Europe moved to Barcelona. In Berlin 2013 it had reached 1200 delegates, in Dublin 2014 over 1300 delegates from 60 countries, and last year In Milano even more than 1300 from 60 countries participated.

Who are the delegates?

32 European countries attended and 28 from outside Europe including 16 Asian countries. Delegates come from commercial radio and public service in almost equal numbers. 38 % came from public radio and 37% from commercial radio. 9% work in consultancy, 5% came from organisations and 11% “other”.

29% define themselves as top-level management, 28% are Programme Directors/Music Directors/Channel Managers, 10% are Heads of news or journalists, 9% are producers/programme hosts, 4% work in online or technical development, 5% in sales and 15% other.

The key to success for Radiodays Europe is the dialogue with broadcasters and partners across Europe about the content and development of the conference. Radiodays Europe is supported by a wide range of organisations such as the EBU (public broadcasters), AER (private radios), egta (European saleshouses) and other radio organisations in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Poland, Russia and Slovenia. Other partners have members outside Europe, such as PMA (Public Media Alliance), AIBD (Asia-Pacific), URTI, WorldDMB and Radiodays Johannesburg, ZA.

“The Association Radiodays Europe” is a not for profit organisation with the sole purpose of organising the annual radio conference. The public broadcasters SR, DR, NRK and YLE make up the board of the association.

Radiodays is supervised by the two Co-Founders and Managers Rolf Brandrud, Norway and Anders Held, Sweden.
