RDE NEWSLETTER

Congratulations Lisa and John Paul in Dublin!

Lisa Ni Choisdealbha, from the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, and John Paul Coakley, from RTÉ, jointly won the "Outstanding Achievement Award" at the Irish PPI Awards, for their work bringing Radiodays Europe to Ireland in 2014.

They were given their awards during the initial stages of this annual national radio awards show in Ireland, which were held in Kilkenny on Friday 3.10.

- As local partners for RDE in Ireland Lisa and John Paul went into this with great energy, enthusiasm and creativity.  They made the Dublin evening events different and unforgetable – take a new look at the video from the Night at the Dogs! – and really deserve this price, says RDE manager Rolf Brandrud.

Programme planning kickstarted in Brussels

Lots of great ideas for interesting themes and good speakers came up at two RDE meetings in Brussel last week.

The picture shows the RDE Conference Committee brainstorming on Wednesday.  We were 34 radio enthusiasts from 17 countries there – from Russia and Turkey in the east to UK and Ireland in the west, and from Spain and Italy in the south to Norway and Sweden in the north.  Great energy and engagement – thanks to everybody!

On the next day the programme committee had its first meeting and started grouping the ideas for further development.  This work will continue in the next months.  News about the first sessions will come in newsletters and at radiodayseurope.com from November, first programme overview in December and full programme in January/February.  In the programme group for 2015 are Mark Barber, UK, Torsten Bierenheide, Germany, Lenja Faraguna, Slovenia, Nik Goodman, UK, Paula Cordeiro, Portugal, Peter Niegel, Denmark, Anders Held, Sweden and Rolf Brandrud, Norway.

Do you have ideas for a session which you would really like to see at Radiodays Europe?  Be sure to mail it to us at pm@radiodayseurope.com.  Many of you have done so already and more is welcome.  Together we can make RDE 2015 even better than the previous ones!
